Thanks to committee members Marilyn Payne, Ann Knight, and Lois Gessler for organizing the 2009 holiday event at Tirami Su. They even have a date for this year. Thursday, December 9, 2010.
Plans are moving ahead to replace street lights, signs, and mailboxes as announced in November. This will be done in phases starting this year.
Finances are excellent!! At the close out of the 2009 budget, there was slightly more income than expenses, due to the close management of accounts, and some good luck in that no major problems had to be funded.
Roads will need some attention this spring. If you've walked them lately you can see why; repairs will be made where needed. Later in the season an inspection will determine if seal coating is needed this year.

This past season there were some really creative holiday displays for all to enjoy! However, some are still up; it's time they come down.
Parking lots are intended for occasional use by visitors, not for the continuous use of co-owners. If you have visitors for several nights that need to park in a visitor lot, please let an SLE Board Member or Herriman & Associates know of the situation.
Is 2010 the year for you to submit a copy of your furnace inspection certificate to the Association? To avoid fire and carbon monoxide harzards, it is required that all furnaces be inspected every two years. Recently, upon inspection, a ruptured heat exchanger was found in a unit and had to be replaced because the furnace was unsafe to operate. This is an example of why the Association makes this requirement. The inspections should be done by a licensed heating and cooling contractor or Consumers Energy. Refer to the SLE handbook, tab 6, Furnace Maintenance and Inspections.
There is a stray cat wandering the SLE neighborhood- white and gray with a hairless tail. Though it may be a great mouser, there is concern for the safety of the children living in our community. If the owner does not capture it keep the cat inside the Board will be forced to have it removed. Refer to the SLE handbook, Article VI, Restrictions, Section 5, A & B
